The MPF3101 chip is the world's first 100G single-wavelength PAM4 DSP IC, which is used to connect data centers and 5G cloud wireless access networks.

On September 18, 2017, ECOC 2017 was grandly opened in Gothenburg, Sweden. As a global market leader in data center interconnect high-speed DSP semiconductor chips, MultiPhy announced that it will exhibit the FlexPhy MPF3101 chip. The MPF3101 chip is the world's first 100G single-wavelength PAM4 DSP IC, which is used to connect data centers and 5G cloud wireless access networks. The MPF3101 chip provides a single-wavelength 100G solution and has a wide range of market applications. The MPF3101 chip and its development system have been used by important international customers.

MPF3101 chip provides first-class performance, power consumption and size, which can allow rapid design and deployment of low-cost 100G connections in data center and cloud RAN applications. The device includes cutting-edge digital signal processing and core mixed signals, which promotes PAM4 single-wavelength technology. Reducing the number of optical devices and reducing the broadband demand for optoelectronic devices is also an important opportunity for data centers to reduce expenses and power consumption. In addition, the device can be used for industry-standard QSFP28 optical modules, which significantly increases port density, paving the way for smaller packaging forms and optical connection solutions.

It has become an industry consensus to use PAM4 advanced modules to increase capacity and spectral efficiency. Therefore, like other associations in the industry, IEEE chose to standardize PAM4 single-wavelength technology to meet market demand. With a strong ecosystem, MultiPhy is the first to adopt 400G and 100G solutions in ultra-large-scale data centers.
